Krest vozdvizaem. Stikhira na "Gospodi Vozzvakh", 14 sentiabria Glas 6. Kievskago Rospeva. Podoben: Vse Otlozhshe
This article points out the important detail that Gardner studied liturgics, church music and the Greek language and that he also worked in and visited in Karpathia (Carpathian Rus), Jerusalem, Syria and Mount Athos. The title of his appointment at the University of Munich was "Lektor," although the normal form of address is quite likely to have been "Herr Professor Doktor...". He had studied Old Believer lineless musical notation while living in Moscow, Greek church music from lineless notation while in Jerusalem, and Serbian church music while studying undergraduate theology at the University of Belgrade <and composition under various Serbian teachers>. This notice concludes with notes on Gardner's publications in the German language. This biographical note on p. 4 seems to have been written by Gardner himself or edited by Vieglais from materials supplied by Gardner at the specific request of Fr. Vieglais
