Boris Feoktistov (b. 1941) - Moscow conductor, church choirmaster, and composer, has been active in the field of Orthodox sacred music for many years. As a conductor, he created a concert choir to perform at concerts of sacred music and at church music festivals. As a composer, he is the creator of many works for the Orthodox Church, both for concert and for liturgical use; most of his works are written in the style of the "New Direction." Several of his major works, including the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, the Patriarchal Vesting , and Parastas (The Great Funeral Service), have been recorded by leading choirs in Moscow.
